Read Across America empowers students, encourages literacy

Members of the High School Student Council visited Curtisville Primary for Read Across America, and East Union students were also encouraged to dress up for the school's monthlong Read Across America celebration!
High School students donned Dr. Seuss character attire and visited K-2 classrooms to read a pledge to read every day, which the younger kids recited back to them.
We loved seeing our high schoolers' creativity come to light. This was also a unique opportunity for our younger students to make connections with older students who are role models in our school community.
Each Friday in March, East Union students have had a specific dress-up theme. This coincided with the Read-A-Thon that LPEP was sponsoring and the Scholastic Book Fair that was held at East Union during this timeframe, too.
